The BEST Travel, Adventure and Everyday Jewelry on the Planet: My trip to Fiji and my introduction to Tula Blue FT. Robyn Vincent

For over 11 years now I have wandered the world as a PADI Scuba Diving Instructor, exploring some of the best “off the beaten path” diving destinations, from Australia, Micronesia, to Iceland, the Caribbean, South East Asia, the Middle East, South Africa, Bermuda, the South Pacific, to where I am currently based, Aotearoa New Zealand. A day in my life could mean catching a sunrise wave before work, waking up at 3 am to catch an early flight to some exotic island paradise, going off for a scuba dive to one of the world’s best dive sites, freediving with friends, hiking trails, van life… this list goes on.

Tula Blue is durable and the perfect swimming jewelry.

In October 2023, I was lucky enough to assist on a Global Content Shoot for PADI and Tourism Fiji, in one of my favorite island paradises anywhere in the world, Fiji! (Side note – seriously, if you have not visited the South Pacific do so pronto. The stunning island nations that make up this region are not only blessed with the most gorgeous white sand beaches, and turquoise crystal clear waters that are teamed with stunning tropical marine life, lush rainforests, and waterfalls but also the most beautiful locals and cultures you’ll ever experience.)

During the content shoot, I got to dive on some of the most healthy and vibrant soft coral reefs in the world, through underwater canyons, experience the oldest Marine Reserve in Fiji – Namena – that was teaming with massive schools of fish and sharks, and best of all, dance (underwater of course!) with majestic Manta Rays. Above water, we got to experience the beauty of the Fijian culture through kava ceremonies and traditional song and dance, immerse ourselves in Fiji’s true religion – rugby – with a game against the local team, enjoy sunrises and sunsets, swim in waterfalls…. Seriously, visit Fiji.

Tula Blue jewelry is water-proof and adventure-ready whenever and wherever you go.

It was on the stunning island of Wakaya where I was first introduced to Tula Blue by the PADI Team and my jewelry game changed forever! Now I have always been a bit of a jewelry gal, but traveling with my dive gear taking up ALL of my checked-in baggage allowance and my clothes squeezing into my carry-on, I wasn’t left with many options for souvenirs from my travels. So jewelry has long since been my way to remember my awesome experiences in my favorite countries. Soon my fingers were adorned, and I wore 3 necklaces, each with multiple pendants. And after a long day in the water diving, I rarely remembered to take them off before bed and I would wake up each morning with my necklaces tangled in a massive knot. Queue the endless job of trying to untangle delicate silver chains!

Tula Blue is perfect outdoor jewelry for those who love being in nature.

Since that amazing day on Wakaya, my jewelry (necklaces, bracelets, anklets and earrings) now exclusively consists of Tula Blue. On my ankle, I wear two turquoise anklets together as a set. Both wrists are stacked, one with the Celestial Waves Bracelet Stack (how apt for this ocean-loving gal I must say) and one with multi-strand blush pearls. My earrings the Metallic Pearl Drop Earrings and the ‘piece de resistance’, are the ones that I get the most comments on, my necklace stack, which consists of a gold bar choker, a moonstone teardrop-shaped pendant, and a Tula Tie necklace that I can wear in so many different ways!. And guess what – these versatile necklace stacks NEVER tangle in my sleep!

The absolute best thing about all of Tula Blue’s jewelry is that it’s so light and comfortable that you forget that you are even wearing it. That is until someone compliments you on your jewelry – which they will, it happens to me all the time! It not only looks FABULOUS but it is also indestructible. Literally. My Tula Blue has hiked to the top of mountains and surfed some of the best waves in New Zealand, free dived to the depths of Blue Holes and walked to the edge of Mt Yasur Volcano in Vanuatu, dived with Manta Rays in Fiji and Weedy Sea Dragons in Aussie, the list continues. It’s up for any adventure, is super comfortable under wetsuits, won’t come undone even when I’m being tossed around in the surf, and even after a year of hard-out adventures, looks as new as the day I put it on (and I haven’t taken it off even for a second since – I sleep in it!)

I am also obsessed with the fact that all of Tula Blue’s jewelry is handspun using eco-friendly and sustainably sourced shells/pearls/stones by women! And they give back to communities and conservation organizations through the sale of their products. Vinaka Vakalevu (‘thank you so much’ in Fijian) Tula Blue, for creating this epic adventure jewelry that is functional, uber comfortable and always looks fantastic.
