Most pearl necklaces come off before the shower because silk thread stretches and metal clasps wear down. This one is strung on rope hand-spun from nautical-grade twine and closes with a loop and puka shell, so there’s no silk and no clasp to worry about. Swim in it, shower in it, sleep in it. After salt water or chlorine, a quick rinse in fresh water keeps your pearl glowing. It’s a classic first-pearl gift too, for a daughter, a bride, or a best friend, and one she’ll actually wear every day.

Can you shower with a pearl necklace on?
You can with this one. Most pearl necklaces are strung on silk, which stretches when it gets wet. Ours is strung on waterproof hand-spun rope, so showers, sweat, and sleep are no problem.
Can you swim in the ocean or a pool with it?
Yes. The rope was made for salt water. After the ocean or a chlorinated pool, rinse it in fresh water and let it air dry to keep your pearl glowing.
Is an Edison pearl a real pearl?
Yes. Edison pearls are cultured freshwater pearls, known for their large size and high shine. No two are exactly alike.
What if something happens to it?
The rope is guaranteed for life, and the pearl is covered for 365 days.
