Tula Blue’s Riptide Pearl Necklace is a pre-layered, multi-strand pearl necklace: three strands of Tula Blue’s signature hand-spun rope, made from nautical-grade sailboat whipping twine by women in our Texas workshops, with real freshwater pearls floating free along the strands. You get the stacked look of three necklaces in one piece. The rope is waterproof, won’t fray or fade, and is guaranteed for life, so it never has to come off.
Everyone’s new favorite is the Drift Adjustable. Drift mixes three pearl sizes: medium baroque pearls (7 to 8mm), the irregular one-of-a-kind shapes, with small ovals (5.5 to 6.5mm) and dainty ovals (4 to 5mm), for a statement baroque pearl necklace that still feels easy. Its sliding knot lets you wear it high as a pearl choker, long over a sweater, or around your sun hat. Prefer a set length? Choose 14 to 18 inches with our loop and puka shell closure. Or choose Dainty, the original, with matching dainty oval freshwater pearls, 4 to 5mm and our smallest.
These are real freshwater pearls, not faux pearls or plastic. They float free on the rope, with nothing glued or knotted around them and no metal chain rubbing against them, so they move with you. Rope instead of silk thread means there’s nothing to rot or stretch out in the shower, the pool, or the ocean, and because the rope doesn’t soak up water, it dries fast. Pilates, school pickup, the pool, then dinner, all without stopping to take it off. After salt water or chlorine, a quick rinse in fresh water keeps your pearls glowing.

Can I wear it in the shower, pool and ocean?
Yes. Tula Blue rope doesn’t absorb water, dries fast, and won’t fray or fade, so showers, swims, workouts, and sleep are no problem. Rinse it in fresh water after salt or chlorine to keep your pearls glowing.
Will a layered necklace tangle?
It’s one necklace with one closure, so there are no separate chains to knot together the way a stack of three would. You get the layered look without building a stack every morning.
What’s the difference between Drift and Dainty?
Dainty is the original, with matching dainty oval freshwater pearls, 4 to 5mm, our smallest. Drift is our newest Riptide, with a mix of medium baroque pearls (7 to 8mm), small ovals (5.5 to 6.5mm), and dainty ovals (4 to 5mm) for more of a statement. Both are three strands of hand-spun rope, Adjustable or in set lengths from 14 to 18 inches.
What are irregular pearls called?
Baroque pearls. They grow in natural, uneven shapes, so no two are alike. The Drift Riptide includes medium baroque freshwater pearls, 7 to 8mm.
Can I wear it as a choker?
Yes. Slide the knot up on the Adjustable and it sits at choker length, or choose the 14-inch set length. Slide it down to wear it long.
Does the warranty cover the pearls?
Yes. The rope is guaranteed for life, and the pearls are covered for 365 days.
