What’s purple, semi-precious, & part of the quartz family? That’s right– it’s amethyst! A long history & a lot of lore surrounds amethyst, but our favorite is from the ancient Greeks. They believed amethyst prevented intoxication. They’d carve glasses out of it to prevent drunkenness, & wear rings of it to prevent mystical frenzy. To this day, we consider amethyst to be a calming stone. Reach for amethyst to quiet your mind & deepen your connection to yourself.
