Rainbow Princess Anklet
Discovered in Canada in the 1800s, Howlite is named for its discoverer Henry How. He found it a nuisance in his gypsum mine & named it silico-boro-calcite. (Thumbs down, boring science name.) A few years later, it was renamed Howlite. (Thumbs up, fun name, a little ironic.)
Natural howlite is white with gray veins, but as a porous stone it takes dye very well. Often, dyed howlite is passed off as other, more expensive stones, especially turquoise. Don’t worry— we’re honest about all of our howlites! Howlite is a calming stone. Turn to howlite if you’re struggling with insomnia, stress, or anger. Believed to elevate the mind, howlite can help you release negative thoughts, strive for knowledge, & unlock memories.
